It’s widely accepted that AI is here to stay.
Most believe it will disrupt every industry.
Fewer think AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) is closer than we realize.
What’s clear is this: every company worth its salt is racing to integrate and leverage the power of AI.
While the story being sold is that AI will immensely benefit the individual, we also know that humans can be easily manipulated by tech.
Think about this — health and fitness companies are using AI to give you accurate and personalized recommendations on working out, sleep, nutrition, movement, and hydration. Sounds wonderful, right?
Now consider this —
- Netflix has openly talked about competing with your sleep for attention. What would the motivations of Netflix’s AI be?
- Junk food companies have spent decades discovering what gets you addicted to their products. Can you guess the motivations behind AIs developed by junk food companies and food delivery apps?
- Quick commerce and instant home delivery (especially in India) are making sure you barely move a muscle. What will the AIs driving these services be programmed to optimize for?

So, the real question is: Which AI will win?
I don’t have a prediction. But if history is any guide, the loser is likely to be HI (Human Intelligence) — and us humans.
